The lowdown on the Showdown 2010- Judges mistake on 70's episode

Yo homies, I'm back again on the attack this time on the judges mistake regarding the styling of return crew and song they dance to "Walk this way". This taken from rentak sejuta website regarding the mistake :-

"However, what was surprising was watching Maple Loo & Joe Flizzow making the gravest of errors when admonishing Return Crew for presumably using music & styling not belonging to the 70's during Episode 10 of Showdown 2010 at KL Live last night. The song in question, "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith is not from the 80s as claimed by Altimet and Maple, but is correctly from the 70s; 1975 to be exact. And punk rock and its related stylings, actually started in the mid 70s, as well. Let's hope the judges gets their facts right before pounding down on the crews." - Rentak sejuta Topic: Showdown Top 9 (Episode 10) @ KL Live (2/6/10)

I think the judges were more familiar with remake of that song from Run DMC "walk this way" sampling the riff and break beat of that song that came in 80's.

Here is an information from Wikipedia regarding the song :-

"Walk This Way" is a song by American hard rock group Aerosmith. It was written by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. It was originally released as the second single from their 1975 album Toys in the Attic. It peaked at Number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1977, part of a string of successful hit singles for the band in the 1970s. In addition to being one of the songs that helped break Aerosmith into the mainstream in the 1970s, it also helped resurrect their career and revolutionized the new hybrid sub-musical genre of "rock and rap", or the molding of rock and hip hop music when it was covered by rappers Run-D.M.C. in 1986 on their album Raising Hell. It became an international hit and won both groups a Soul Train Music Award for Best Rap - Single in 1987."

As for the styling, punk rockers were rocking that look since mid 70's then spill over to the 80's. . They (return crew) reminded me of street gangs in movies like clockwork orange (1971) and the warriors (1979). Would like to tip my hat to the stylist who has his work cut out for him. Not everyone in the 70's wore bell bottom jean and platform shoes and had big afro hair.. So to me return crew rocked it with that style.

As what rentak sejuta stated judges "gets their facts right before pounding down on the crews".

Nevertheless I got mad love for Joe, Maple and Alitmet they give colour to the show.

As we know at the end of the day. It is you who make them stay on top so all you fans out there please vote wisely. The judges can say what ever they want at the end of the day "siapa yang banyak pump duit" that crew will win.

That it for me .. Keeping it real as I see it. Peace.
