Merdeka Weekend Round Up !

Hello boys and girls looks like we have a 3 day weekend on our hands and for you TV lovers out there we have some awesome goodies to show you.

On Saturday we start our day off with A date with Yu Lu at with at 1pm with her interviewing Anthony Wong famous Hong Kong actor. Then later in the evening sit down and relax and watch our Cinemea 8 1/2 presnt the movie Super Fans. The movies revolves around Sum Lee (DJ Sammy) and Yan Yee (Kevin Cheng) are rival singers, and Susie (Charlene Choi) is a super fan of Sum. Completely obsessed with Sum, Susie is willing to do anything for him, even attack Yan Yee with the nastiest of tricks. Susie's dream comes true when Sum by chance asks her to be his substitute assistant. But that's how she discovers the darker side of the real-life Sum, and after that she realizes Yan Yee isnt' that bad after all! There is also a rural postman (Leo Ku) who secretly admires her, accompanying her through all the crazy star-chasing. Starring Charlene Choi, Leo Ku, Kevin Cheng, Sammy Leung, Eric Kot. Later in the night at 10.45pm, 8TV proudly present Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration. A 90 minutes special of music celebration in honoring Michael Jackson's thirtieth year as a solo entertainer .

On Sunday we start the Merdeka celebration with a 8 Style Merdeka Special at 1pm. At 3pm sit back an enjoy a Korean Movie entitled Daisy is an urban romantic melodrama between a young art painter (Jun Ji-hyun), an elite Interpol detective (Jeong-woo) and a professional hitman (Lee Sung-jae). Hye-Young (Ji-hyun) is a simple sidewalk artist, with dreams of one day holding a real exhibition in a real gallery. While Jeong portrays a killer who loves her but cannot confess his love to her because of his profession. Her pure love will draw these deadly men into a spectacular showdown in the process, revealing Hye-Young’s hidden past. The love triangle takes a twist that is bound to make its audience think about their own perception about love. The whole film was shot in The Netherlands, for the most part in the capital of Amsterdam, Haarlem and Epen. Starring Jun Ji-Hyun, Jeong-Woo, Lee Sung Jae. Later at 630pm come with us on journey in Ho Chak Merdeka Special as the showcase restaurants or eateries that our grand-parents used to hang out, where the food and ambience is so terrific that the restaurants still survive till today? This merdeka, Ho Chak! will bring you there… Later in the evening 8TV will screen Kami the Movie at 1015pm “KAMI” follows a group of five friends as they squeeze in as much fun and reckless abandonment on their road to self-discovery before entering a new stage in their lives – higher education. After that please stay tuned to the Quickie gang as they celebrate Merdeka in their unique way.
