Rounding off the year's achievements in the Hong Kong music industry, the RTHK 30th Top Ten Gold Songs Awards took place last night at the Hong Kong Coliseum, where over 40 awards were presented, including a special award to Theresa Carpio for her contribution to the industry over the years and the highest accolade for the year, the Four Stations Combined Media Award.

A significant anniversary in commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on 31 August 1957 is about to take place. This magnificent date will never be forgotten by all true Malaysians and to mark the special day, 8TV will come up with an episode “We’re 1 Malaysia”. The whole programme will be divided into four segments that cover the culture and background of all races. With this concept, it will jog the Malaysians memory of how we are formed as one and the identity of migration in Malaysia. This programme will be an outdoor celebration and since we are known for our multiracial culture and background, this episode will be hosted by four different races. Though the hosts are all from different races and culture, they will all be speaking in Mandarin and this partly shows our unity. Every segment touches the cultures and background of all races and different races will represent different culture to show our oneness
