Hello,  everyone  out there  as you can see from my last blog entry it was all about the Impression Cup 2010.  Went snooping around  to know more about this competition. So saw few write ups in the papers regarding it but still I wanted to know more about  it.

24883_417932446208_45277871208_4948882_7721163_s

So I hooked up with Boojae of Funky Fresh Production to get a lttle more insight on the Impression Cup 2010 is all about and what we can expect at the preliminary this weekend.

Azwar Nazli : Boojae, can you tell us more what's going to happen on 27  March 2010?

Boojae: This 27th March, there's a Preliminary / Audition for Impression Cup Bboy Battle 2010, happening at Funky Fresh Dance Complex, Kompleks Rakan Muda Bukit Kiara. Its a walk-in audition,no need re-registration, just come and do the audition.

Azwar Nazli: Are the crews will be doing a showcase and battle at the auditions?

Boojae: The crew will do a 6mins showcase,no battle involved for the audition.

Azwar Nazli: Do they (Crews) have to bring their own music or it will be provided?

Boojae: All the contestant have to bring their own music for audition.

Azwar Nazli : The crews can mix bboys and bgirls or it just for BBoys?

Boojae: Definitely can mix! even all bgirls crew are most welcomed!

Azwar Nazli:  Are you expecting a big turn up for the audition?

Boojae: As the bboy scene is hungery for this kinda of competition, exposure, experience and so forth..so we def.expecting a big turn up for the comp.

Azwar Nazli : What are the judges looking in the crews taking part in this competition ?

Boojae: Every each judge have their own style and their own definition on bboying. They have their own identity that makes each one of them  expecting something different  from all the crews taking part. The judges have their own expectations on what they are the looking for the 8 crews going for the title of the Impression  Cup winner and later representing Malaysia in the World Impression Cup 2010 later in the year. This makes the competition more interesting and all the crews taking part have to fulfill the expectations of the judges. The crews have to go all out and expand on their creativity, technique, showmanship and other criteria in getting those marks from the judges.

Azwar Nazli: Thanks Boojae for your  time in answering our questions regarding Impression Cup 2010. Any last words to our readers?

Boojae:   To all Malaysian Bboys & Bgirls, lets uphold the scene together,as everyone now are talking about UNITY & SUPPORT,so this is one of the steps for us to shine!! Lets keep it up the scene on Malaysian way! Peace!

Oh Angelina …….

Angelina Jolie is a big star with box full  of film under her belt, a handsome husband and bunch of kids in tow.  My first introduction to her was from a film called Hackers. That was back in the 90’s  a movie revolved around high school students whom are immerse in the subculture of computer hacking but for me I awe struck on the hot girl with boyish haircut in that film.

From there I had this huge fascination about her and I knew from there onwards she will be a big star.  She was totally hot and weird at the sometime that aura of mystery was she crazy or she needed some loving in her life.  I did my own web surfing and soaking up any news about this actress. It must be those lips of hers,  they are so juicy and natural.

As we fastforward  to now,  she did become big and famous went through slew of men before ending up with Brad ( You Lucky Man !)  Plus a boat load of children in tow.I do love her  action movies not to keen on her more dramatic roles don’t get me wrong she is good actress. I prefer in a  sexy vixen type roles.

I don’t know how she manage to take care all those kids maybe she has a army of nannies standing by while she works.  With her own kids plus her adopted kids she still look stunning.   She will be one those actresses that still be hot when in their golden years. As for me  I married to my college sweetheart and a cute little girl in tow.  Worked in the entertainment industry and now pursuing my masters. Once an awhile I put in the  Hackers DVD and take me back to my college days when  I first fell in love to girl named Angelina.

Skateboarding again.

Maybe it was a midlife crisis or just purely spur moment purchase maybe I was not thinking straight. I have  not skated since my college days on my popsicle shaped deck from beer city skateboards.
While I was working  with  Revolution Skateboarding  Magazine , it never occurred to me to skate.  Maybe because  I felt intimidated with the super skilled skaters whom were the backboned of the company back then.

Even though I didn’t  skate anymore but kept my ears to the ground on the latest going on in the skateboarding world locally and aboard. I went to almost all the X games held in Malaysia except one held in bukit Jalil. It was great to see  Pa’din going to US for the Xgames.  The skatebording have  come full circle almost we have our own skate  brands, fully owned skate shop, we have Mont Kiara, Putra Jaya, Shah Alam , Pinang and many more fabulous skateboarding facilities.  I see more kid skateboarding  then before.

Started reading  Concrete Wave  and saw their  TV program on 8TV.  Got me yearning to skate again but I was scared, was I to old for this type sport?  Concrete Wave showed me that,  I’m not the only one going thru this, there are more people my age whom just beginning skate for the first time or old veteran coming back after years of not skating  and having a blast. Concrete wave to me is a all rounded magazine showing all the sub categories  from street, pool, downhill's and more.  Got me itching to skate again or just cruising around would be fun. So I made the plunge and bought myself old school pool deck made by  Cliché  a French Skateboard Company.

Been riding it in the  car park basement of my condo late at night learning  to gain my confidence on the board again.  I yearn to go to the Shah Alam skate park to try the pool there but have not have time yet may be soon I’ make the plunge. At the moment I happy cruising on my board in the basement of my condo.
* Would like to thank Adwin formally of  Push Skateboard shop for the advice on the setup of my deck *
